This month let's celebrate the blessing of family and friends. Summer is the perfect opportunity to spend more time with the ones we love; to laugh and relax a bit more. Reconnecting revitalizes the soul and gives us more energy to seize the day! Remember, getting the most out of your time off doesn't mean being idle. Read more about 'active rest' below.

Active Rest
You need a vacation. Really, you do.

Vacation is key in resetting your engine and preparing you to live your best everyday. You don't need some exotic setting to ease the woes; anything that takes you away from regular workaday stress is great for the mind, body and spirit. Consider active rest—the idea of changing activity in order to stimulate different muscles. Athletes of all types use this method to stay healthy during the off-season without become stagnant.

Shake up your activity a little. If you run, try swimming, if you bike try a paddle sport. Try something different over the summer months.

Lolë White Yoga
The Lolë white yoga tour made a stop in Toronto, and we were there front and centre. 2000 people wearing white all in the name of peace. Truly an inspiring morning.

As we all knelt in warrior pose holding each others arms in unity, surrounded by nature's beauty and a cleansing rain fall, it felt amazingly empowering.

Balance Break

Hydration is key! With the advent of summer it is extremely important to hydrate your body even more than before. 60-70% of your body is made up of water. It needs this to function at its peak.

Head aches, dark-coloured urine, lightheadedness, even nausea can be avoided if you remind yourself to drink water during activity. Hydrate more before a workout, sip water during the workout and of course hydrate plenty after. For more tips check out this article
