  It's holiday time at TAB, and like you, we are also preparing for family and friend festivities. As busy as life gets, this is not the time to forfeit all the hard work you have been putting in. Stay the course and commit to your progress. It will not be easy, but we have a plan (see below). The weather, social engagements, our children's commitments and the general hubbub of the season can disrupt your rhythm. But this is worth it—it's more than a resolution, it's now your routine! Happy holidays!!!  


It's holiday time at TAB! We thank our clients for their amazing commitment and support over the last three years. We appreciate your business and hopefully you know that we think of you as family. To thank you, once again we are having our Holiday party Dec 13 at 8:00p. If you have not yet RSVP'd please send us a note now to let us know you're coming. We want to be prepared. Thank you and we hope to see you there!

We are very excited to share that we finally have a new blog. Rhonda will be posting interesting articles, thoughts and point of view—like balancing being a mom, work schedule and home life. So feel free to check it out!

December always comes with challenges on your time. We want to work with you so you can get it (all) done! For the first time, all classes (except for Body Balance and pre-registered classes) will be 1/2hr. Get all the great strengthening and cardio from your favourites, packed in an exhilarating half hour class!

Please check the schedule as there will be some changes to start times.

Recipes by Judith Pumpkin black bean chili
A recipe by Judith Kaufman
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2-4 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 cup canned diced tomatoes
1 cup veg stock or water (add some extra later in cooking if needed)
1 can black beans
1 can white beans
1 tablespoon cumin powder (start with half the amount, and add more, to taste, i used less)
2 tablespoons chili powder (start with 1 tablespoon, reduce or add more, depending on your tastes and also on how spicy your chili powder is)
  salt and pepper
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp sugar
  grated cheddar and greek yogurt for topping

akes 4 servings. You can (and should!) double this recipe, if you plan to serve this for dinner (larger portions) for 4-6 people!

In a large pot or skillet, cook chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil for about 5 minutes on medium heat until soft. (It would be good to add half the spices now)

Add pumpkin, tomatoes, vegetable stock (or water), black beans and white beans. Add half the cumin and half the chili powder, cinnamon and sugar, stir everything well, and season with salt and pepper. Taste your chili, season some more with salt and pepper if needed. Add the remaining cumin (or more) and remaining chili powder (or more), if desired. Bring to boil, make sure to stir all ingredients well together to combine flavors and spices. Reduce to simmer and cook for a minimum if 20 minutes.

Serve in soup bowls over brown rice with cheddar and greek yogurt.
